Stop!
Don't pick the red raspberries. They aren't ripe yet. These aren't red raspberries, they are black raspberries.
A tip, if you've never been berry picking. If the berry doesn't release easily, it's not ready to eat. Raspberries are a little more "stuck" on than blackberries and mulberries, but if you find yourself in a fight for the berry, let it go. It's not going to taste good anyway. Just a gentle tug or twist should do it.
