Haagen-Dazs* Salted Caramel Truffle Ice Cream

Mini truffles (chocolate pieces), swirls of caramel, and vanilla ice cream (I love Haagen-Dazs* Vanilla Ice Cream).

Someone surprised me with this as a treat.

I hate surprises.

I'm also not a fan of the recent salty dessert trend.

Salted caramel truffles can be absolutely fantastic.

But, this ice cream is not.

Not fantastic.

If you've ever salted your bowl of ice cream, and liked it, you'll love this.

But, I have not, and this ice cream just tastes salty to me. Too salty.

Buddy liked it, though (and yes, I carefully avoided giving her any of the chocolate chunks).

By the way, if you're wondering, yes, Haagen-Dazs* is my favorite ice cream (aside from homemade ice cream, which I love most of all).

  

*Yes, I know, I'm missing umlauts.  

All The Good (And Sweet) Stuff Happens In June!

June is National Candy Month,  National Dairy Month, and National Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Month.

The first Friday in June is always National Doughnut Day.

National Chocolate Ice Cream Day, June 7th.

National Herbs & Spices Day, and National Iced tea day, June 10th.

My birthday, June 14th.

National Chocolate Eclair Day and National Onion Ring Day, June 22nd.

National Chocolate Pudding Day, June 26th.

And those are just the foods that appealed to me the most as I typed this post. There is practically a different food being celebrated each day this month!

See?

All the good (and sweet) stuff happens in June.

Happy Valentine's Day Toasted Cheese

 If it's Valentine's Day, it's time for chocolate cheese!

But this time, it's toasted!

Yes, on white bread. Don't hate.

 From Aldi's, but it is just as awesome as the chocolate cheese I had last year from Trader Joe's (yes, I know there is a relationship between the two businesses).

 "Specially Selected Cheddar With Chocolate, English Cheddar Cheese blended with rich dark chocolate." Sold in 6.7 oz (190g) blocks.
